Why does Mosaic ask for permission to know my email address and change data for websites I visit?
“Know your Email address” – Mosaic does not read your email address. Instead, it needs to ask for permission to read your Google+ ID. Your Google+ ID is how we ensure your settings sync with the cloud.
“Read and change all your data on the websites you visit” – This permission is necessary to make cross-origin requests to external web services. This is used to download the news feed and other RSS feeds. You can read more about this on this link: https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/xhr.
“Read and change all your bookmarks” – This permission is needed so that the extension can show all your bookmarks.
“Read and change your browsing history” – This is needed to show your “Recently Closed Tabs”.
“Manage your apps, extensions, and themes” – This is needed in order to show the “Apps” that are installed on your browser within the extension.
