Mobility Print

Simplify printing from your own ChromeBook for organizations using PaperCut Mobility Print

This app makes it ultra-easy to print to any brand or model of printer, locally, or over the internet. Your network administrator has done the hard work for you by publishing all available printers, meaning you don’t need to worry about anything other than installing this app and printing!

For the Administrator
OK… so if you’ve read down this far, you’re probably a real techie and likely a Sys Admin! Hello friend 🙂 If this is your first taste of Mobility Print, pop over and take the tour, or sit back and relax and watch on YouTube.
TL;DR
PaperCut Mobility Print offers a simple mobile & BYOD print solution across multiple vendors, servers, apps and technologies. It’s perfect for businesses supporting a mobile workforce, or schools/colleges/claoom with 1:1 laptop programs. It doesn’t matter if your end-users want to print via a phone, tablet or laptop, or if they follow Team Mac, Team Windows, or Team “Not-Sure-What-I-Have”, printing will just-work (without the need to call your helpdesk of course!)

With Mobility Print’s Cloud Print feature, your users can print securely over the internet.

If you manage the Chromebooks at your organization, then you can easily deploy Mobility Print using Google Workspace, allowing users to print from anywhere by simply pressing Ctrl+P. For BYOD environments, simply send your users a link, and Mobility Print will guide them through a couple of steps to configure printing themselves.

At first when I had this app it worked just fine, but recently it does find my printer but when I click to print it doesn't print anything.

I have the same experience with PaperCut Mobility Print. I discovered, when ever the problem is present, I needed to reinstall the Papercut Mobility Print software on my print server computer and this would resolve the problem until the next Windows update. Then I would need to reinstall again after the next Windows update. Eventually, I tried Ezeep Blue. Ezeep Blue works great. They provide a free coupon code for one free user after signing up.

Very difficult to use for the first time and most/all online instructions are not helpful. Not user friendly.

I was using Mobility Print to send print jobs from my Chromebook to my home printer once Google ended their Cloud Print service. It worked the majority of time, occasionally requiring a system reboot for the printer to be found. I found it satisfactory and would have rated it 4 stars. However, in the last two months the utility has stopped working. The printer is recognized by the separate Mobility Print app (Mobility Print services), however, the printer does not show up in the list of available printers like it used to. I've tried endless troubleshooting on both the server and client without any resolution. Mobility Print stopped replying to emails once they realized I was not a commercial client---that's fine, though their online support troubleshooting section did nothing to resolve the problem.

What a frustrating app! I LOVED Google CloudPrint. My whole office worked 100% of the time for years. This junk is impossible to set up. The instructions are worthless on their website. I have uninstall the Chrome extension constantly! So much potential yet such a flop.

This is NOT a replacement for Google Cloud Print. If you have an organization that can set up print servers with the Paper Cut stuff, then you are good to go. BUT if you do not purchase their infrastructure, this is worthless to you. Look elsewhere.

This app works on the school-issued Chromebook fine, but on my Windows PC, with the link from the school for our home devices to install the app, connected to the network, it does not find any printers. I'm not sure what I'm missing, but so far, I cannot find any help.

Steve

Ne fonctionne pas!!!!

Benja..

Worthless piece of trash. Just pops up a screen saying "you're" ready to print. Doesn't actually help you print or connect to network-nothing. The absolute worst way to print from the cloud. I don't know why my college uses such a garbage service, much less why this even exists still. Would rate 0 stars but that's not possible, so you get a free, undeserved star.

Thanks to Mobility Print, my Chromebook is usable again! I was about to ditch Chromebooks and go back to Windows. Don't know what Google are playing at, when they can't even sort out something as fundamental as printing from Chromebooks since 2011!!

Ning

good

When idle for a long time, mobile can not find printer in same local network. I need to restart app in my computer and reactive print service again in my mobile.

The description is missing one important key word that completely changes the viability of this app for general Chromebook users. It says: "Simplify printing from your own ChromeBook for organizations using PaperCut Mobility Print" The word "Server" should be added to the end of that sentence. Without a Windows, Mac or Linux PC set up to act as a Mobility Printer Server, this client app CAN NOT WORK.

Dario

Works great for my university! Is there any way to change the user printing just in case someone else decides to use my device to print their own document?

Mike

Finally a way around Google Cloud Print! Kudos Papercut!

Laser..

Works well in my test environment.

Hi Anne, Sorry to hear about your experience so far. I’d love to chat further to work out why it’s not working and help you get up and running with Mobility Print! I have a few questions: - Do you have Project Banksia installed on your Print Server? If you do can you let me know the build version you are running. This can be found by logging into the Project Banksia admin console, it’s mentioned in the top right corner. - Can you see the print queues from your Chromebook? Or do you see the print queues from your Chromebook, press print and nothing is released? Feel free to reply back here or reach out to Mel at support@papercut.com
