Send and receive sms instantly from Google Chrome with your Android smartphone.

‣ Features

Thanks to smshare, you can quickly share your favorite links by sms from your Google Chrome browser.

For those of you with big fingers, you can use smshare to simply pick up a contact from the phonebook and send sms from your Chrome browser using your 102 keyboard 🙂

Receive notifications for your incoming messages and your missed call on your desktop or by email.

‣ Getting started

You just need to install the Android smshare application on your smartphone, and you are ready to go.

Note: This extension is USELESS without Android smshare application, that you must install on your android smartphone.

→ Replaced powerful but scary TAB permission with the ActiveTab. This permission is required to allow easy insert of current tab URL.

→ Clean form when SMS is sent

→ When you send SMS from the conversation page, SMS is automatically appended to the list of SMS.

→ Huge code refactoring.

→ You can now contribute to translation.

→ SMS are now sent in the background to make sure they get dispatched to the server before the extension popup close.

Clicking outside the popup, will close it. When popup get closed, scripts execution stops.

Some users don’t wait for SMS to be sent before clicking outside the popup, making the SMS dispatching to stop.

→ Bug fix: Show missed call as desktop notification.

→ Make use of new chrome capability of push message, when possible, to open incoming SMS in desktop notification instead of using a separate server. This will save battery and network bandwidth.

→ Bug fix of contact authorization notification

→ Fix issue when clicking on the notification and the send name is not available. “null” was set as the sender name

→ Added an alert for when Google contact authorization is not granted to avoid complaints about why autocomplete is not working ^^

→ Finally, conversations landed in the extension 🙂

→ Added user voice widget to allow easy feedback submit. We need your feedback!

→ Handle cases where user pastes large number of comma separated numbers.

➔ Autosave contacts while filling the form so that if you close the popup and open it before you send the SMS, we can autofill the form.
